CIL TO EXPLORE FOR COAL IN MOZAMBIQUE
Kolkata: March 24, 2010
Coal India Limited (CIL) has appointed geologists to explore
possibilities of coal excavation in Mozambique. Shri Partha S.
Bhattacharya, Chairman, Coal India Ltd. said this while speaking on
"Coal India's Growth – Challenges" at the Merchants' Chambers of
Commerce here today. Exploration would start in two years. Shri
Bhattcharya said coal sector was growing, it would achieve a growth of
500 million tonnes by 2012. He also informed that seven underground
mines would be dug by CIL in the coming days. CIL was looking forward
to setting up of washeries in large numbers. Twenty of them were
coming up with a capacity of 11 million tonnes each.
