                           I knew it from your blog .

 The issue is an old one .Long back in the early seventies or early sixties ,I cant remember well , when the then C.M .BCR of WB was desperate to settle the refugees where-ever possible ,the politicians of CPI and later their first fraction CPIM and other associates strongly protested against this .

     The islands ,which for three hundred years ,The British -Indian Rulers thought unsuitable for settlement , was used by CM,BCR .Now after SUNAMI  it's clear that those islands are not safe for settlement ( even more dangerous   for common people like the refugees : it's equivalent to pushing them in the JAWS of death) .Under the present perspective it may seem that the LEFT -politicians were justified and sincere. And it's also to be acknowledged with gratitude that the huge refugee settlements build onwards from 1947 and which gained more momentum after 1971 , got some  Left-Political patronage.The refugees also paid their returns in the ballot -boxes .It seemed quite likely but there are many black-spots which are gradually becoming more prominent .One such BLACK -SPOT IS MARICHJHAPI .There are many others like BILLKANDA ( where the LEFTS got around 90% polling in each year ) , notorious flood of BONGAON  and OF  NADIA DISTRICT so to say etc.

   

    Regarding MARICHJHAPI anyone can go through the happenings while observing the YOU- tube Videos.In 1974 The Left -Politicians ,most-of -them -turned- out -to-be-STALWARTS -later, told the settlers of DANDAKARANYA/ORISSA  that they would take them back to Bengal and they have found out the land for them also ,That Land was Marichjhapi ISLAND . But Anyone now knows that The HOPE Turned Out to Be JOTUGRIHA  for these PEOPLE , YES FOR 17000 OF THEM, AND TILL TODAY THE KING HAS BEEN FLOUTED BY THE LEFT POLITICIANS AS THEIR JUDISHTHIR ,THE BBIGG  BROTHER , WHO DURING THE MASSACRE KEPT PLAYING ONE LINE SONG IN HIS VOCAL FLUTE --- " WHAT COULD BE DONE ? " 

    Some of the LEFT-Politicians have acknowledged this and now   it's clear , either they were not sincere ,their promise was simply to capture the refugee-vote-bank or may be after three years The Situation Changed Completely .But they never said anything .It happened  and just became silent like a  GRAVE_YARD  and a  ONE LINE TUNE  " WHAT MORE COULD HAVE BEEN DONE ?" 

    

    Definitely One Question Still Remains Unclear Who Provoked The Population  after ThREE Years to Pursue The Promise Of The Politicians .If Any One Can Give Any Information , I Will Be Happy .The whole -World Will Be . 

  It is true that the refugee problem in Eastern India was not solved ; neither before 1947, nor after 1947 , nor even after 1971, never our political leaders could find any practically feasible path of solving the problem.But yet before each election they made it a issue in the refugee areas and the hapless and poorest of the refugees paid highly for the high aspirations of the opportunist political leaders.Thank God , each time they were ditched ,they accepted with sheer silence and agreed in their heart to accept the rosy death-nails each time .One such infamous settlement might be Biill-Kandar -Country-liquor settlement which polled 90% for the rulers for more than a quarter century.With high hopes of change and in spite of the real changes taking place it remains to be a tradition like the  Holy Religious ones , the Hell of Modern day.

  Marichjhapi is the by-product of such politics.IT'S INDIA'S GREATEST TURNED_OUT_TO_BE_GENOCIDE AFTER FREEDOM.

  As the videos envisage,about one tenth of a million people came here in north 24-parganas,WB with a hope that they will be settled in Marichjhapi as the leaders promised them  only  few years back in 1974.

   The then CM ,JB , told their leader that Govt. would neither help  nor oppose them..He might be thinking  that these poorest of the refugees being uneducated  and tactless ,would not be able to take the risk of going to the island, where there was no INFRASTRUCTURE. In-fact THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE PRACTICAL AND INTELLIGENT DECISION IF THOSE PEOPLE COULD HAVE TAKEN THAT.Here again the BURNING QUESTION remains till now " who convinced them? " Some politicians are trying to propose that they were self-convinced! But that is a very ridiculous and tricky turn in the INTERPRETATION OF bENGALI  BABUS.

  Out of the 100 thousand people, 30 thousands entered in to the island.As their activities started ,the Man behind tight lips, still eyes  and expressionless face was shaken from inside and seemed to be discovering  a conspiracy and a fear mixed with the possibility of losing  power started tingling down his backbone .Although you may  think of it as a literary flurry but you can't explain otherwise what followed in his speech and actions subsequently.

   He proposed conspiracy , outsiders intervention from neighboring country and his thought ,fortunately or unfortunately with the common man's belief of having the extraordinary political wisdom , became a funny what not stores .As is evident in his BBC interview with Mr. Handa  that it might be he lacked the in-depth understanding to be a tragic statesman ( the only possibility  for a State like India) , he remained to be a BABU , he blundered and the people got victimized for his  Party wanted to win elections after elections by using his Charisma .He let himself being used by his party.Never in history a leader like this could liberate his people .So Mr. Beynoy Chouwdhury  was to be snubbed by JB  ( when he raised the question of corruption ) as like why he being in the party then ?

  The island was evacuated with the deployment  of special forces .Mr JB 's sincere effort of pressurising those people  by pursuing the P.M. of friendly Union Govt. to dislodge the rehabilitation  camps they left, however was not successful .The Home Minister kept aside JB's proposal as  rubbish and unsubstantiated .But the CM succeeded in resisting all social-welfare organisations to arrange for peaceful deportation of the people.

   He ( Mr. JB ) thought their participation would create further camps here and there and the opposing political parties may take the chance.His anticipation was not completely baseless.In this country the political-culture is like that.And  as  a successful practitioner and product of that very circumstantial conditions he was quite aware of what could be the outcome .So as a political leader of the Front it was his duty to monitor the situations in such a manner  so as the possibility was completely nipped in the bud .He was successful in his mission and  was politically correct.

   But what could be the interpretation of his 1974 statements regarding the rehabilitation of the refugees.

One may be such that  throughout his life  he remained politically correct. 

Second one may be that he tried his best within his own limitations.

Third one may the fatalistic interpretation that it was the most probable outcome other than anarchy.

Fourth one may be he lacked in-depth understanding of the problem.Some people think it had been so whether you think of health, primary education or higher education or his inability to protect the State's indigenous 35000  entrepreneurs ( yes ! in spite of his declaration that there will be no revolution ).

The price  people had to pay   ::::

  1) A sum-total of 128 died according to the Govt. statistics. 

      But you must remember , he bypassed any responsibility ( like every other issue ) by getting the operation sanctioned by the Politburo and L.F .So divide the number 128 by the members .It's very small .It's nothing .He was convinced .He made everyone convinced!

 2) The Effective number is 17000.

     Only 10000 of the 30000 people who entered the JATUGRIHA -MARICHJHAPI   could return to the rehabilitation camp. 3000 of them remained in W.B> in their relatives' shelter.So 17000 people altogether vanished into the blue.They succumbed to the method of not allowing  peaceful deportation .

 If the PRESENT CM of the same alliance can take the Responsibility of the of  14 people  in NANDIGRAM massacre why The Front should not   Apologize for The Turned -Out-To -Be -Appalling -Crime which happened due to their faulty playing of the political moves. 

  

 MARICHJHAPI_DAY  SHOULD BE OBSERVED BY THE LIBERAL-MINDED PEOPLE ON THE DATE ,THE ATROCITIES STARTED
