The Sikh nation must concentrate on the liberation of Khalistan in order to avoid any future attacks on the Darbar Sahib, considered the Mecca of Sikhs

A reader will guess from the title what is there in the story for him. Indian Constitution 1950 was rejected by the Sikh parliamentarian in 1948, 26th November, 1949, 1950 and 6th September, 1965 because it was unable to protect the rights of the Sikhs. The Brahmins-Hindus after receiving freedom from Britain on a platter began changing its colours like a chameleon. Within seven weeks of freedom, a circular was issued to the deputy commissioners warning them to keep an eye on the Sikhs as they are a menace to the law abiding Hindus. Hindu leadership had already calculated as how to evade the promises made to the Sikhs prior to freedom.

It is believed that the June 1984 attack on the Darbar Sahib also known as the Golden Temple, was already in plans on a Sikh religious day, the martyrdom of Fifth Master Janab Guru Arjan Sahib, the founder of the Darbar Sahib. It is widely viewed, the attack by the Indian army was an attempt to inflict maximum casualties of Sikhs to intimidate and suppress their voice for freedom of Khalistan.  Instead of apologizing for the innocent killings, the leading newspaper editors, such as Ramnath Goenka, were terming the attack as "A greater victory than the win over Bangladesh, this is the greatest victory of Mrs. Indira Gandhi". The Indian army general S.K. Sinha who was sacked because of his disagreement of the attack along with Mark Tully reported that in October 1983 the Indian Army selected 600 soldiers from different units and sent them to rehearse the attack on a replica of the Darbar Sahib at a secret location in the Chakrata Hills about 150 miles north of Delhi in the Doon Valley.

Mrs. Indira Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India, under the pretext of removing Sikh freedom fighters, ordered the attack upon the Darbar Sahib in Amritsar.  The religious leaders, led by Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale (Shaheed) were accused of amassing weapons in the Sikh Gurduwara.  On June 03, 1984, a 36 hour curfew was imposed on the state of Punjab with all methods of communication and public travel suspended.  Electricity supplies were also interrupted, creating a total blackout and cutting off the state from the rest of India and the world.  Complete censorship was enforced on the news media.  The Indian Army stormed the Darbar Sahib on the night of June 5th under the command of Kuldip Singh Brar.  Pilgrims consisting of women, children and others including Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale (Shaheed) and Major General Shahbeg Singh were also mercilessly killed.

Due to the planned and systematic killing of Sikhs, four months after the attack on the Darbar Sahib, on October 31, 1984, Indira Gandhi was assassinated by two of her Sikh bodyguards in what is viewed as an act of vengeance.  As per reports of human rights agencies, more than 260,000 Sikhs were killed.

The Sikh nation stood up demanding Khalistan.  In order to defame the liberation movement, the Indian government began the militancy themselves to terrorize the population and give the cause of Sikh freedom a bad name.  Police would pose as militants, demand food and money, and rape Sikh women, then the next day the police would return, charge the residents with "harboring militants", and beat them.

At the time of partition, the Hindu-Brahmins diverted the Sikh attention from the real goal of reinstating their own government which was taken away by Britain in 1849.The Sikh government, PUNJAB of monarch Ranjit Singh, 1799 to 14th March, 1849 was the "FIRST SOVEREIGN AND SECULAR NATION" of South Asia. Would anybody find the word 'India' on the world map or in any dictionary or Encyclopedia of the English language? The Brahmin-Hindus used the Sikhs against Muslims and did not let them concentrate on obtaining Khalistan.  If Sikhs continue to stray from the real goal it will be difficult to free themselves from the shackles of slavery.
