Dear Friends,
The Hon'ble Justice Pranab Kumar Chattopadhyay directed the Principal Secretary, Department of Home and the Director General of Police to ensure that the lives and security of Nemai Singh and family members and to further ensure that he along with other villagers of Bhursa village can go back to their home and reside therein peacefully and without any hindrances. The Hon'ble Court also directed the State to restore law and order in Bhursa village.
It is pertinent to mention in this regard that on 11/12/2009 a group of unidentified anti socials entered Bhursa, which is a village within Shalboni Block in Paschim Medinipur and attacked the villagers, set their houses on fire, destroyed their belongings and also destroyed the rice silos (dhan gola) by setting fire. The attack was on the allegation that the villagers have joined the Peoples Committe Against Police Atrocities.
Despite of the presence of more than 4000 police and army in Lalgarh, the common people are suffering in the hands of these anti socials who are literally guarded by the army. Villagers have claimed these anti socials as members of the much known 'Harmad Bahini'. The Administration has made themselves not available in the 'ISLANDS' of Jangalmahal. If the army cannot protect the common people then they can leave the place. The poeple cannot suffer in this manner.
Let us hope that the State takes the necessary action to protect the people in Jangalmahal who are suffering tremendously having no fault on their part.

To know details about the case and the order please contact HRLN at the address as mentioned hereinbelow.

In solidarity
