Points of inflection

With his exposure into the mainstream society, I realised that casteism is present in all walks of life. With the Indian Government tackling the issue with its reservation policies and making it perennial, I chose the path of uplifting them by making their voices heard.

Already an Ashoka Fellow, I was the President, United Nations' Youth Organisation (UNYO),Uttar Pradesh (India) Chapter. My work has been recognised with Gwangju Human Rights Award for 2007. In 2009, in collaboration with the Rehabilitation and Research Centre for Torture Victim (RCT), Denmark.

From the beginning,I was averse to the caste system that is still rampant in the Hindu society. I refer to his higher caste Hindu upbringing as "feudal". This sprung the seed of social activism in me.

PVCHR.Blogspot.com started when hardly any NGO, in India was amplifying its stories/successful interventions through the internet. Internet and other mediums have contributed immensely in different way to strengthen advocacy revolution. All form of information and communication technology including the digital ICT like computer, internet, mobile phone, and 'new social media' like face-book and twitter, known as 'Liberation Technology' is used by the organisation to seek freedom from discriminations and violence.

Tech trends to watch out for

Electronic technology is very much part of the contemporary human lives. It is pervasive, effective, explosive, and accessible which can transform people's opinion and influence changes in government.
